6–13 players · a standard 52-card deck

Goal

6–13 players, a standard 52-card deck, reshuffled fresh every round. Land your bid exactly, round after round — the highest cumulative total once the final 1-card round is complete wins.

Dealing & the Discard

The first round deals the largest number of cards that splits equally among everyone; any leftover cards are set aside face down, unseen. Each later round, the dealer passes one seat to the right and everyone gets one fewer card, all the way down to a final round of just 1 card each.

Trump Cycle

Trump cycles Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, then a round with no trump at all — repeating for as many rounds as the match needs.

Judging (Bidding)

Before each round, everyone privately decides how many tricks they expect to win — anywhere from 0 up to their hand size — then announces it simultaneously. Nobody can hear anyone else's number first.

Trick Play

Follow the suit led if you can, otherwise play any card (including trump, to “kill” the trick). Highest trump wins the trick, or highest card of the led suit if no trump was played. The trick winner leads next.

Scoring

Win exactly your bid: score +that number. Miss it — over or under — and you lose that number of points instead. The one exception: a 0-bid that fails (you win any tricks at all) costs just −1, not the meaningless “−0” the usual formula would give.
